Thinkersmith Traveling Circuits Curriculum
Thinkersmith has developed curriculum, geared toward girls and non-traditional students. The lessons highlight the creativity, passion, and self-expression in computational thinking and aim to take the intimidation out of computer science, through real-world activities. The curriculum aims to prepare students to move into ECS (Exploring Computer Science) or another straightforward programming curriculum by the fifth grade.

Summer Programs

CVCC Summer Career Camp
One week camps typically held at CVCC the last two weeks of June, following the close of school. District high school teachers partner with CVCC instructors as co-counselors for each camp. The camps provide a fun way for kids going into the 8th-10th grades in the fall to "try on" a career in a given field with hands-on projects, field trips and a shared luncheon with parents and other campers the last day.

Inspire
Each day of camp is a new experience allowing students to explore, grow and expand their abilities. Our custom-designed curriculum covers the following disciplines: print design, three-dimensional design, motion and animation, photography and illustration.

Tech-Trek
Tech Trek is a weeklong science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) summer camp for rising eighth-grade girls. Through Tech Trek, girls are immersed in a world that empowers and encourages them to think about themselves as future scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and computer specialists.

Tri-C Summer Camps for Children and Teens
Cuyahoga Community College Summer Camps for children and teenagers to learn about a wide variety of things from cutting-edge technology to culinary creations. Offerings include science, photography and dance in a safe and healthy environment.

Out of State

Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Programs
The program represents an innovative approach to computer science education, pairing 300+ hours of intensive instruction in robotics, web design, and mobile development with engaging, career-focused mentorship and exposure led by the industry's top female entrepreneurs and engineers. For rising sophomore and junior girls. Application deadline is mid-April.

Hollinsummer
Hollinsummer, open to middle school and high school girls, is an overnight camp located on the campus of Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. Students take two noncredit classes, live on campus with girls from all over the country, and enjoy a full program of extracurricular activities.

Media Arts and Studies at Tri-C
Media Arts and Studies is vibrant, hands-on program offering degrees and certificates in Media Arts and Studies, Motion Graphics & Visual Storytelling, and Digital Video Editing.

North Coast Tech Prep
Earn college credits in high school. Develop proficiency in the STEM Careers (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). You can make a smooth transition from high school right into a 2 or 4 year college degree program.

Scholarships and Awards

Anita Borg Scholarship
Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipients receive a financial award for the academic year. A group of female undergraduate and graduate students will be chosen from the applicant pool, and scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate’s academic background and demonstrated leadership.

Ohio NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing
The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education. Application deadline is early Fall. Learn more.

The Tech Awards Katherine M. Swanson Young Innovator Award
This category recognizes the inspirational work of young people (under the age of 27 as of December 31) who are using technology to confront the world’s most vexing problems. Application deadline is mid Spring. Learn more.
